We invite you to celebrate our wedding
Bird photographer, tech nerd, pun extraordinare, and all around goofball from Milford Connecticut.
Everyone's favorite friend, the one who can tell you everything about lichen and mushrooms, from New Britain Connecticut.
Please join us for our main wedding ceremony hosted at Washington Park at the Pavillion. We will be reciting our vows, have light refreshments, music, and some fun activities.
After the ceremony, join us for a dinner at the place we had our first date, Izumi Steak & Sushi, 25 Ella Grasso Tpke, Windsor Locks CT.
It started with a swipe on Bumble, which quickly lead to a simple discussion topic: "What is your favorite insect?" We shared an immediate connection, love for art and nature, and of course cat pictures!
We planned a quick hike, but in typical lesbian fashion that turned into a day long get together. Walking along the Windsor Locks Canal trail, we both took the plentiful Blue Herons as a good sign for the future.
We made it official on September 10th, though our courting rituals would go until the end of the month.
A surprise proposal on a surprise camping trip detour, we got engaged at the Cornell University Bird Santuary. It was a "yes" in the presence of Blue Heron!
One year from the day we first became a couple, we said "I Do" for the first time in a private ceremony officiated by our friend.
Now we'll be saying "I Do" again and celebrating with our friends and family. We can't wait to see you on this day!
Questions and Answers about the day.
Above all else, we want our guests to dress comfortably, so we recommend dressing somewhere between "casual" and "a little nicely".
Because autumn temperatures in New England can vary wildly, we suggest layering.
Our wedding color theme is green and yellow, so feel free to incorporate those colors if you want!
We will be doing our wedding photoshoot in advance of the wedding. On the day of, feel free to take photos if you'd like!
Gifts are not expected, but if you wish to gift us, we deeply appreciate it. Our Gift Registry can be found here.
The wedding ceremony will start by 3PM EST. Please be sure to arrive at least 30 minutes early!
Weddings can be really boring for children; luckily, there's a playground at the park. Children should feel free to play there if they rather do that than be seated!
There is street parking near the nature park. As we will have several guests attending, please be sure to park tightly to allow the maximum usage of space.
If you wish to take public transportation, Windsor CT has a train station a short 15 minute walk away from the park.
The town of Windsor does not allow alcohol to be served or consumed at the park.
Additionally, we want to keep our wedding a "dry wedding" and respectfully request you do not order alcoholic beverages at the reception resturant. Thank you!
